A MasterClass In Style

You asked for it on Instagram. The response was an enthusiastic YES so we had to bring it over to our LinkedIn crew… Blazers 101 ????

We love blazers at Hacker Valley. It’s a way to express ourselves! Here are our top tips for rockin’ a blazer.

1. Ask yourself, what do you want to say with your outfit?

Do you want to be casual yet professional? To make a statement? This intention will guide you. Hop on Pinterest and type in the adjective + blazer for ideas. There are many different types of blazers!

2. Be authentic

Wear the blazer that feels like you, don’t force it because you think you “have to” wear one.

Folks can tell if you feel uncomfortable so keep shopping until you find what feels good to you.

We suggest taking lots of pictures of blazers when trying them on so you can see what fits, colors, and shapes you like best.

3. Choose your colors

We were lucky to learn about color analysis from Monika Eddings who helped find the colors that best compliment everyone’s skin tone, eyes, and hair color. Monika uses the Seasonal Color Analysis system to find each person's specific color palette. This makes it easy to shop and mix and match colors. These are our color palettes!

4. Get ???? It ???? Tailored ????

Before you go shopping, take all of your current blazers and button-downs and get them perfectly fitted to YOU. This is the key to a put-together, million-dollar look!

Pro tip: Nordstrom does alterations on-site on all their clothes. We love getting our blazers and tailoring done there. (We're not sponsored by Nordstrom but we're open to it!)

5. Style it

A dope blazer on a sloppy outfit isn’t going to elevate your look. Think through all the pieces you’re putting together. And again… make sure everything fits!

There you have it, our best tips. We could go on and on... but only if you ask for it ??

PS. See what blazers we'll be wearing on our first-ever full-team interview with Mimi Gross LIVE next Friday!
