Master Your Mindset

Master Your Mindset

Do you spend time actually working on your mindset? Chances are, there aren’t very many of you out there. And that’s okay. I’m in no way calling you out.

In fact, I spent the first ten years of my career never giving my mindset a second thought and I payed dearly for it.

After speaking with Collin Henderson on this week’s episode of the podcast, I thought it was more than appropriate for me to put out a blog about mastering your mindset.

Every piece of success begins with a healthy mindset. Every single one. You can’t achieve your highest potential unless you are in a strong state of mind. You might be able to become successful by society’s standards, hit your quota, or look good to your family. But without a healthy mindset, you won’t be achieving your potential.

Our potentials as human beings are often far higher than we give ourselves credit. When we are kids, we have these big dreams and we truly believe that we can achieve them. But then, as we grow older, those beliefs begin to fade and we settle into society’s definition of success.

I am here to encourage you to not let that happen. Don’t let the rules of the world push you down and suppress your dreams and goals. With a healthy mindset, you’ve got this!

If you have been struggling with your mindset lately, don’t worry. Below are three tactics that I’ve been able to compile from experts throughout many different industries to help you better your mindset and up you inner-game:

  1. Read - Reading is so underrated. How much time do you spend each week watching TV? Probably way more than you spend reading. You can learn so many new things through reading and you can expand your knowledge and skills base. Set a goal for how many books you want to read per month. If you currently don’t read, just start with one book. Read one book per month and watch your mental game soar!
  2. Meditate - It sounds cliché, but it’s scientifically proven to increase the number of folds in your brain material. I won’t bore you by diving into the science of this, but to keep it simple, it makes you a higher functioning human being. I would recommend the Headspace app if you’re just starting out. The app offers meditation practice for all sorts of different mental goals and has helped me tremendously in upping my mental game.
  3. Practice Gratitude - It’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life. With all that we have going on and how much we work, it’s very difficult to be grateful for the small things in life. However, slowing down and experiencing gratitude for the smallest things in life really helps to put life into perspective. All success is about perspective. You’ll start to notice that as you are more grateful for the smaller things in life, bigger things begin to happen for you.

There are tons of different things you can do to help better your mental game. The suggestions above are just my favorite ways to start off when you're trying to improve your mentality.

This week’s episode with Collin Henderson was amazing if you’re looking for more tactics to improve your sales mentality. He offers up many different tactics and strategies that you can implement into your daily life.
