Hi Everyone,
I hope you’re doing well! As we move into the final stretch of the business year, many of us are looking at our earnings and expenses for 2024. As somebody who has experienced extreme cash flow problems with my prior business, Urban Balance, I wanted to share with you some great business financial advice from Melissa Houston so that you have the information and support you need.
Melissa Houston, CPA’s Practical Guide to Managing Cash Flow in Your Business
Managing cash flow is a critical aspect of running a successful business, and Melissa Houston, CPA, Forbes Contributor and author of Cash Confident: An Entrepreneur’s Guide to Creating a Profitable Business, has made it her mission to help entrepreneurs master this essential skill. With her extensive experience as a financial strategist, Melissa provides practical advice on how to keep your business’s cash flow healthy and sustainable.
The Cash Flow Challenge
"Cash flow is the lifeblood of your business," Melissa explains. "Without it, even the most successful businesses can quickly find themselves in trouble." She has seen many entrepreneurs struggle with cash flow issues, especially in the early stages of their business. "It’s one of the most common problems I see, and it’s also one of the most preventable."
Joyce Marter Speaks for the Cape Coral Chamber of Commerce Event
?I was truly honored to serve as the keynote speaker at the Women’s Leadership Conference for the Cape Coral Chamber of Commerce. It’s amazing to think that just a year ago, I officially made Cape Coral my full-time home.
The experience was so special, and I loved connecting with the inspiring women business leaders here with one of my most popular talks, The Psychology of Success. Sharing my books and building new relationships really solidified my connection to this wonderful community. I’m excited to dive in deeper in the future!
My favorite part of the talk was when I asked participants to act, “As If” they had already achieved their dreams and introduce themselves to other attendees as so. It’s a great way to embrace an abundant mindset and foster connection and interaction at an event.?
A special thank you to my husband, Jason Marotzke, who not only came along to support me but also helped out with photography, video work, and my book signing. He’s always there to lend a hand, and I couldn't be more grateful! I’ve even included another photo from the event, this time with Lisa Barrella from the Chamber of Commerce, who played such a key role in making everything happen. It was truly a team effort all around!
I’m also proud to share that I’ve recently earned several new certifications, including Women-Owned Business (WOSB), Women Business Enterprise (WBE), and Sam.gov certifications, as well as becoming a Certified Virtual Presenter and a Wellness Productions A-List Recommended Speaker.
Coming up, I’ll be speaking for McDonald's Corporation, US Bank, Busey Bank, the Naval Air Station Jacksonville and more!? If your organization could use mental health in the workplace trainings,, take a peek at my calendar here, and let's chat about how we can work together!
