Master Your Brand: Answer These 3 Questions
CHRISTINE C. GRAVES
Revenue Producing Leaders ?? your impact & income | You’re in the room where it happens ?? | Be Invaluable | GSD | You know there's more | ?? Bender | Marathon Runner/Triathlete ????♀? ??♀???♀?
Many of you struggle with this.
These 3 questions cut through your brain fog.
You’ll be clearly and confidently communicating your brand in every aspect and every way as you transition to your next role.? It will become second nature.??
Why is confidence important???
Remember, the person who often gets hired is the most confident, not the most qualified.??
If you’re not confident in your abilities, how do you expect a hiring manager to offer you a role?
BTW, I see you.? You do A LOT.? You’re successful, driven, a learner who must have purposeful work, otherwise, why work?? Follow along with me and my client Jay as we walk through 3 questions you need to answer to MASTER your brand:
2. What’s your process or method that you use to problem solve? ?Have 3-5 steps in your process outlined.? Keep it simple and succinct.? Know it backwards and forwards.? Play it in your head in the shower and while brushing your teeth.? Practice with family and friends.? Make a diagram of it and have it be part of your portfolio.? Easily rattle it off right after you disclose the problem you solve.? Jay dreams about his 3 step process and can easily share with you while sleepwalking I’m sure!
3. What’s next? ?In other words, what’s the next way you want to use your problem solving skills & process?? What’s that next mountain you want to climb?? You’re showing a growth mindset with this question and becoming even more sticky in someone else’s brain.? Expert connectors (or Boosters as Steve Dalton, author of The 2 Hour Job Search refers to them) do want to help when they can, and by sharing this you’re helping them to help you.? That’s a gift!
Jay is looking for a start up in 3 target industries where he can work his hyper revenue growth magic, and because he’s been clearly communicating this he is in active conversations with 5 right now.
For all 3 of these questions - BREVITY is key.? Your answer to question 1 should be like a short and snappy one liner or tag line.? Question 2’s answer should be narrowed down to 3-5 action verbs, and question 3’s answer should be wrapped up with a call to action on what ideas/advice the person you're talking to has regarding your next challenge.
You did it!? You have nailed your brand so clearly you can confidently make progress now in your career transition project and implement a sales and marketing campaign to the opportunities you want to choose from.? It all really starts with you. What’s your brand and how do you want to use it? The world is your oyster, you just need to communicate who you are and what? you want to do, because if you don’t, know one else will.? So what’s YOUR brand?
