Master in One Technology is not Good!

We often here this line,"Become a master in one Technology and you will get JOB". Typically from our faculty/mentor of our college. What if i say is that not so Good for the Techie(The person who loves to handle Technologies).

I started love programming when I came to know about the programming language called Java. Initially as a newbie who got enthusiastic while run Hello world for the first time and it worked well, then i felt myself as a great programmer. I hope everyone does the same. Once i got enthusiastic about JAVA then i started digging deep down to the technology then plenty of stones attacked my head, that was so irritation as well as it gives optimistic to be inquisitive. Then i heard that line from my adviser/faculty that "Become a master in one technology and learn it then you will get a Good Job".

But practically it is good for getting the Job. I'm sure it is not Good to survive in the IT field for so long and we can not able to find the answer to our questions for which this technology evolves, why should this functionality includes in this tech, why is not available in previous technology..etc and we cannot obtain the deep knowledge about your technology even though we worked for 10+years if we don't have knowledge in other technologies.

Nowdays "Learning New Technology is Easy but Knowing fundamentals is Tough".
