Thought of the Day: Growth Isn't a Race—It's a Journey
?Growing your business is not about trying to do everything all at once. Often, businesses feel the pressure to juggle multiple initiatives—developing new product lines, creating partnerships, and expanding sales all at the same time. But, true success doesn’t come from trying to do it all at once. It comes from mastering the right combination and timing to align where your business is today with where you envision it tomorrow.
?For some, growth will mean breaking into a new market with existing products. For others, it's about developing something entirely new to meet an unfulfilled need in an existing market. Both approaches fall under what I call Market Acceleration, which is Path 3 in my book, Growth IQ.
?Go to Where Your Customers Are—and Your Competition Isn’t
?Market Acceleration is about stepping into spaces your competitors haven't and building a deeper connection with your customers by truly understanding their wants, needs, and buying habits. It's the art of filling a gap or creating a need where none previously existed. We've seen this strategy play out across businesses of all sizes—companies like Under Armour and The Honest Company successfully applied this very principle during the pandemic.
?Kevin Plank, the CEO of Under Armour, famously said, “For the first five years, we only had one product: stretchy tee shirts.” It wasn’t about doing everything at once—it was about excelling where they knew they could, then expanding strategically. Similarly, for your business, growth is never tied to just one thing. It’s about focusing on what matters, pushing boundaries, and always being bold.
Ready to Accelerate Your Success?
Take a step back, assess where your customers are and where your competition isn’t, and focus on delivering an exceptional experience. Growth is about being bold, adaptable, and continually evolving.
Now is the time to design a strategy that thrives on its own by focusing on your customers' needs and delivering exceptional experiences that set you apart.

2 个月Tiffani, thank you for sharing and for the great reminders. I agree! I often find the opposite where sometimes companies contemplate to reevaluate to make any decisions about growth and find themselves with a superior product, but being out marketed by the competition simply because they could not get out of their own way. I am sure you see this also right?
