Master of the Game(s)
This is not a spoof on Sidney Sheldon's bestseller, but yes, its title has been borrowed with honest intentions.
Master the following six specific childhood games, and you may stand a better chance of thriving anywhere on earth. Continuous practice in these games may help refine one's survival instincts and success probabilities....significantly!
The six games to reflect on, are:
- Tic-Tac-Toe
2. Passing-the-parcel
3. Musical Chairs
4. Snakes and Ladders
5. Ludo
6. Tug-of-war
I am sure you would will be able to deduce the principles/themes behind the games and their relationships to current realities. Each game symbolizes an underlying tenet that may prove to be useful in a practical sense, while dealing with myriad situations in the dance of life. My intention in writing this piece is neither to sound pessimistic nor sardonic; it is intended as reflections on experiences accumulated through a reasonably long journey in time, metaphorically speaking.
And as a bonus, when strategic or Machiavellian aspirations run extremely high, there is a seventh game-Chess-which can be something to consider, in order to scale new heights!
Maybe it is the flavor of this planet or maybe it is just the way things work, or what it takes to survive and succeed here...... in education, society, relationships, business, politics, corporate career or any other sphere of life.
Maybe there are many more such games to be mastered to get ahead and prosper, which I may have missed?
