Hello, welcome to the SeveUp Echo! ??
Today, let's talk about BIM software: for whom? for what? ??
We've compiled a list of the best BIM software to use in 2024 ??
But, to use the right tool, you need to determine your needs. What do you need BIM software for?
Here's a list of the best software to use in 2024. You probably know some of them already, but we've included a few hidden gems ??
Let's start with BIM modeling software. First up is Revit.
Revit is part of Autodesk's BIM software suite. It’s our favorite for modeling and planning plans ??! This software is aimed at designers, builders, and creators, allowing 3D modeling of buildings for better coordination between construction trades ????.
It also facilitates clash detection, quality control, and offers numerous plugins for specialized tasks such as point clouds or thermal calculations. You can even create custom plugins if you know how to code! ??
Although the learning curve is steep, the large community, forums, and tutorials available make it easier to master. Exporting to IFC can be problematic, but many tutorials are available to help you. Revit offers a free trial: try it here!
The software known to architects: Archicad, of course
The ultimate BIM architecture tool, it’s a collaborative solution! ????
You can model a 3D building, create various necessary documents for the construction project (plans, sections, object lists, perspectives, and even elevations). It’s an OpenBIM solution, allowing you to create and read data in IFC format. Plus, exporting the format is easy ?? They also offer trial days: check it out here!
Next up is Allplan.
A computer-aided design software, Allplan has developed different solutions for various AEC needs. The small downside is that exporting to IFC is limited because not all areas can be exported. For more details, visit here.

Now, let's look at BIM analysis software. BIM analysis is used in many fields, but it remains underdeveloped in the construction sector. It allows you to consolidate different databases and provide automated reports with relevant KPIs to increase profitability and more easily meet financial, legal, and environmental challenges. ????
And here is the gem we mentioned: SeveUp (that’s us) ??
We help you transform your BIM model data into real insights that everyone can understand, even those not initiated into BIM!
Create your own dashboards for your clients, your teams, or yourself! Reporting, BIM model quality control, 4D planning, space management, key performance indicators... Data visualization is the best way to help you tackle your challenges, whether they are environmental, legal, or financial.

Let's continue with BIM model verification software. (and here we come into play again) ?? Come and test, I tell you!
To work within a BIM approach, you need a BIM model, but more importantly, you need a high-quality BIM model from your list of BIM software! It is crucial to ensure it is of high quality because the ultimate goal of BIM is not the model itself but the uses that stem from it. Uses such as quantity control, 4D planning, program control, KPIs… And, if the model data is not accurate, the resulting uses will be flawed. Therefore, it is imperative to verify the quality and compliance of BIM models. ??

Whether you're embarking on the BIM journey in 2024, choosing the right software is an E-S-S-E-N-T-I-A-L step to improving collaboration, ensuring quality, and succeeding in a constantly evolving construction sector.??
I say, there's nothing left but to (test us) ??
Choosing the right solution from the list of BIM software for your 2024 projects is crucial, and it starts with a clear understanding of your specific needs. Whether you're looking for powerful BIM modeling tools like Revit and Archicad, insights based on the SeveUp application analysis, rigorous model verification with Solibri or Catenda Bimsync, dynamic 4D planning using Synchro and Navisworks, or efficient document management via Kairnial, Procore, Dalux (sounds like a window brand, doesn’t it? ??), Dropbox, Autodesk BIM 360, Trimble Connect, Kroqi, or Axeobim, there is a BIM software solution tailored to your needs!
