Massy Distribution & Windsor Laboratories CEO Hails Customs Service Delivery During CBI Visit
Janine Chen, CEO of Massy Distribution and Windsor Laboratories, yesterday (Feb. 18), hailed Jamaica Customs' service delivery, citing a longstanding and collaborative relationship with the agency. The visit, which was part of the Customs Business Interaction (CBI) Initiative, saw the CEO commending Customs for its proactive approach to supporting trade and businesses in Jamaica.
In her remarks, she noted, “We have an excellent relationship with Customs. If there is ever an issue, the key persons at Customs are just a phone call away. Their guidance in matters of trade has been invaluable.” She also expressed her appreciation for the Customs Business Interaction Initiative, highlighting the critical role it plays in fostering transparent dialogue between Customs and the business community. The CEO further emphasized the significance of Customs' digital transformation, which she believes compels businesses to stay current with the evolving landscape of trade and logistics.
Dr. Velma Ricketts Walker, CD, J.P. CEO/Commissioner of Customs, in turn, acknowledged the positive impact of the CBI and shared Customs' commitment to supporting business growth in Jamaica. “We see ourselves as a government entity that drives economic growth while understanding the intricacies of the security architecture that underpins trade,” she stated. “Our goal is to learn more about businesses so we can continue to help organizations thrive. We remain dedicated to being present in the spaces where businesses need us, ensuring they receive the information they need in real time."
