Mass flow meter- Coriolis flow meter.
The system has two micro cross section tubes parallel placed, oscillated using electromagnets mounted in the centre. Sensors placed on each side on the U-bend of the tube (inlet side and outlet side) to measure this oscillation. The generates sine wave shows relative motion of these tubes. Time period of sine wave is the time period of tube oscillations.
When empty, both will generate two, in-phase sine waves. When fluid flow is present, the time period of the oscillation changes due to Coriolis effect. Moving in the oscillating tube, fluid experience a change in velocity. This change in is associated with Coriolis Force which acts on the fluid medium and on the tube effecting the oscillation. This causes tubes to twist in opposition to each other causing a phase shift in the two sign waves being generated by the sensors. This time difference is directly proportional to the mass flowing through tubes. The frequency of the Oscillation is directly proportional to density of the medium.
