Maslow returns to the 21st Century.
The Cognitive Principle Matrix {CPM} has used Maslow's Hierarchy of needs as a Hierarchy of Values or Principles. It changes for an early stage development model to an adult model. This ties is with CPM's seven stages of Attachment model, shown below. At stage 3 the child [14years] detaches from the parent, having created self-esteem and then pursues relationships outside the family and eventually attaches to a partner in the 4th stage [25-35 years-emotional years]
The bottom two levels of the hierarchy are negative values. This is based on Iain McGilchrist's "The Matter with Things-2021" which states that the purpose of the right brain is to keep us safe and it is the right brain [Super-Ego or Conscience] that should guide the left brain [ Ego], which is driven by greed to find food. At the bottom level, however, we have taken things personally and have lost control. In Polyvagal theory, this means the vagal brake is off and the fight-flight-freeze response has taken control.
