Masknificent 2024: A Night of Creativity, Connection, and Competition!
The creativity was off the charts at Systemcenter’s showroom during our annual Masknificent design challenge! Architects, interior designers, and creatives gathered for an unforgettable night of connection, celebration and a little friendly competition.
This year’s event came with a fun twist: participants had just one hour to craft dazzling Mardi Gras-inspired masks using an array of materials—think glitter, gems, and Haworth finishes. It was a fantastic way for everyone to step away from their screens and get hands-on with their creativity.
The excitement grew as our esteemed panel of judges—Monique Palisbo ( IIDA Hawaii Pacific Chapter (HPC) President), McKenna Furuta (Outgoing ASID Hawaii President), and Julia Fink ( AIA Honolulu Executive VP)—scored the masks based on originality, craftsmanship, and theme. Bonus points were awarded for clever uses of Haworth finishes and our winners truly stood out:

But the real magic of Masknificent goes beyond the competition. The event was a celebration of community, where professionals from different industries came together to collaborate, create, and enjoy the evening’s festivities.
To top it all off, attendees had the chance to win raffle prizes from our local favorites like Yireh, Mana Up , Fighting Eel - Kailua , Holey Grail Donuts , Via Gelato, and more. Everyone left with a sense of pride and inspiration, eager to bring newfound creativity back to their work.
Masknificent 2024 was a night to remember, and we’re already excited for next year's design challenge!
