What have been some of the highlights or memorable moments from your first year at the company?
Maryam: I had a very good first year in betPawa. I really enjoyed the Christmas party and the women’s day celebration.?
What initially attracted you to the field of software engineering, and what inspired you to pursue it as a career?
Maryam: I am a coding problem solver. I love programming. I am also super interested in puzzle solving, sudoku, etc. So, I think these traits of mine attracted me to the field of software engineering.
What do you believe are the key skills or qualities that contribute to success in the software engineering field?
Maryam: There are a few...
1. Patience
2. Willingness to learn
3. Being curious about new things
4. Problem solving ability
What steps do you think can be taken to encourage more women to pursue careers in software engineering?
Maryam: I can suggest a few things...
1. Motivate them that it is doable by them
2. Not mock them when they are in the initial stages
3. Encourage them in building smaller projects for initial stages
