When I was coming up as a speaker…

I had the opportunity to speak on a lot of stages of industry leaders since I’ve started.

Meaning, someone who’s badass at what they do, and who’s ahead of you in business…

Is giving you an opportunity to pour into their audience from their stage…

WITHOUT PITCHING.

For those of you in this group…

If speaking more is something you’re truly interested in…

Then you’ll MOSTLY find stages (especially in the beginning) where you can’t pitch your offers or services directly.

You’re also most likely not getting paid to be there.

However, you know speaking on stage for someone with a big audience is a MASSIVE opportunity…

So you’re willing to speak for free, cover your costs to be there, AND not pitch.

(People’s unwillingness to “speak for free” is why MOST people never get more speaking opportunities)

The question is how can you build a sustainable business and income giving free talks that you can’t sell from?

First thing you must understand is most speakers are more worried about themselves and what they’re going to say…

Than they are about the audience in front of them.

But in reality more sales happen the more we get the audience to engage and participate with us throughout the talk.

The more engaged the audience, the more sales you’ll make.

Here’s 3 ways I engage my audience into buying from me every time…

WITHOUT pitching or selling them directly…

??. ?????????????????? ??????????????????

As some of you have read in a past post, your speech should be broken down into 4 parts…

You want to ask your universal questions at the end of your opening.

“Universal Questions” are questions we know they’ll say ‘yes’ to.

And if you’re a pro, the questions should pre-frame what you’re solution is by getting the audience to self-identify as your target audience, while admitting they have a problem.

Here’s an example if I was speaking:

“?????? ???????? ???? ?????? ?????????? ?????? ???????? ?????????????? ?????? ???????? ???????? ??????’???? ???????? ???? ?????????? ?????? ?????????????????? ?????????????

????????, ???? ??????!

?????? ???? ????????????, ?????? ???????? ???? ?????? ?????????????? ???????? ?????????? ???????? ???????? ???????? ??????’???? ?????????? ???? ???????? ?? ???????????? ???????? ???? ?????? ???????????

????????, ????????, ???? ??????.

???????? ???? ???? ?????? ???????? 60 ?????????????? ?? ?????????? ???????? ?????? ?????????????? ?????? ???? ??????… ?????????? ???????? ???? ???????????????? ?????? ???????”

What just happened there are a few things…

? I built rapport with them because I related to them, while relating them all to each other (Us vs Them technique in NLP)

? I ran a “yes set” getting them to say ‘yes’ three time in a row.

? I pre framed the fact that I’m going to solve their problem in the next 60 minutes, giving me a better chance to hold their focus and attention.

??. ?????? ???????????? ???? ??????????????

This means getting people to interact with you.

I do this three primary ways…

? Getting them to keep nodding their head and saying YES throughout my talk

? Getting them to raise their hand often

? Getting then to repeat after me

Examples:

“How many of you think this is important… yes or yes?”

“Raise your hand if you’re committed to becoming the best version of yourself”

“Speaking is the #1 way to create influence… to create what? Yes… influence”

The more a speaker can embed engagement activities into their talk, the more a speaker is going to sell.

A good story is relatable.?

You’re telling it to get the listener to make an emotional investment in you.?

The problem 99% of speakers make when telling a story is they make it all about themselves.

When telling stories for business, they should be…

Me Me Me… You You You.

This is my story, my experience, and my learnings from it.

This is what you can learn from my experience, this is what you should do next to get XYZ results, too.

Remember… “me me me… you you you.”

Most speakers NEVER throw it back to the audience to ponder in their mind…

Which is why most speakers are broke or make less than 10k per month.

If you can execute these 3 things when you’re on a stage…

It doesn’t matter if you can’t pitch…

You WILL close deals when done correctly!

I hope this helps one of you absolutely CRUSH your next stage performance!
