Because Storytelling.

I will admit... I am a damn good storyteller.

You’ll be hard pressed to find someone who can instantly bring up and connect to an emotion in somebody better than me.

However, there’s still hope for you!

Because storytelling is actually SCIENCE!

The reason my talks constantly get the same results is because I leverage the science behind storytelling.

Did you know that when the human brain is presented with “facts”,…

Like bullet points in a presentation or numbers on a slide…

Very little work is done within the brain.

What happens is the brain sees/hears the facts…

Translates them into meaning, and that’s it… it’s work is done.

Because of its efficiency and natural desire to save calories for survival…

There’s little to no reason for the brain to use any surplus of its caloric intake to make anything extra happen…

like an emotion or a memory.

You know what the brain REALLY likes, though?

Stories!

For 27,000 years (earliest known) humans have been telling stories.

First in caves, drawing out pictures of buffalo and them hunting the buffalo.

Which shows us that the human brain is wired by evolution to lock-in, and be fully engaged when its being told a story.

Because when it’s fed a story…

The brain’s sensory cortex lights up like a Christmas tree…

Stirring up emotions and recalls of physical feelings, maybe even a smell or a sound...

Stories transforms the listeners world and brings them right into it.?

They should FEEL like they’re living out your story as you tell it.

What that means for me and you as speakers…

Is that as long as we learn how to tell the best and most powerful stories…

We can impact and save A LOT of people...

And make a lot of money doing.

If I’m keeping it real, it sort of reminds me of when I was bartending back in the day.

I got paid to show up, make a connection with my patron, figure out what their problem was by asking questions, solve it, and then get them to want to come back again.

In the bar world we call it “bull shitting”…

But in the entrepreneur world we call it “storytelling” haha

Back then I used to work 25 to 40 hours a week and make about $4,000 - $5,000 a month, cash for the most part.

Most people think I got paid to show up, bull shit, pour beers and make cocktails.

However that’s not true at all.

Because they can get ALL of those things ANYWHERE, at any bar.

I was always highly aware that… what would make me the most money was to create an experience for my guests.

It’s no wonder that now as a transformational storyteller that I went back to my bartending roots and created a “cocktail” I give my audience every time I talk…

that the human brain is impervious to.

When I deliver my “cocktail” to the audience, it causes them to make an emotional investment into me.

This “cocktail” consists of 4 hormones that are naturally produced in the body.

You’ll need to get a “Story Library” sorted out and created so that at any moment, you can pick from a list of stories that you know illicit specific emotions in people.

These stories should be turning points in your life and the challenges to faced and the lessons you learned from those challenges.

Once that’s created, then this cocktail is even easier to make.

? INGREDIENT #1: DOPAMINE

This increases focus, motivation, joy, excitement and inspiration.

Share stories of what you’ve been able to accomplish in life by mastering what it is you do in business.

? INGREDIENT #2: OXYTOCIN

This increases the audience’s trust and causes them to bond with you. It creates empathy, this is important.

This is your opportunity to tell your “mess is your message” story to the audience. To create that safe space for them to step into sontheu can discover their greatness. Stories of tragedy or pain or vulnerability work amazing.

? INGREDIENT #3: ENDORPHINES

This will get your audience to feel relaxed and at ease. Like they’re in a safe zone with you. It also enhances fun and pleasure.

Stories about something funny that’s happened like an embarrassing moment or something that was totally silly. This is like an instant rapport builder.

? INGREDIENT #4: SEROTONIN

This is the hormone thats known to regulate someone’s mood.

It tells the brain of the body is happy, mad, or anywhere in between. So if you hit the mark on the first 3, you’ll make serotonin happen as a result.

Which is important because this is ultimately what’s going to get them to decide if they like you enough to invest in your products or services.

If you can create a story library that allows you to tell stories that totally transform people, you’ll be one of the top paid speakers out there.

Of course there’s way more ninja tactics than just this one... but this one is one of the most important ones!
