Marriage makes/breaks your destiny

Marriage is a sacred institution set up by God. Among many things, whom you decide to marry will be directly tied to your destiny. Two become one flesh in holy matrimony according to God's design.

Genesis 2:4 "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh."

Samson & Delilah (Judges 16)

Samson was an anointed man of God before his birth. However, his union with Delilah sealed his doom-cutting short his divine destiny. She betrayed his trust.

Verse 4-5; Samson fell in love with a woman... whose name was Delilah. The lords of the Philistines went to her and said, “Entice him and find out the source of his great strength and how we can overpower him to tie him up and subdue him. Then each one of us will give you eleven hundred shekels of silver."

Verse 19-21; And having lulled him to sleep on her lap, she called a man to shave off the seven braids of his head. In this way, she began to subdue him, and his strength left him.?Then she called out, “Samson, the Philistines are here!”

When Samson awoke from his sleep, he thought, “I will escape as I did before and shake myself free.” But he did not know that the LORD had departed from him.

Then the Philistines seized him, gouged out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, where he was bound with bronze shackles and forced to grind grain in the prison.

Ahab & Jezebel (1 Kings 16-19)

King Ahab's wife, Jezebel, influenced him into introducing idolatry in Israel. This practice brought judgment on both his family & Israel.

He who finds?a wife?finds?a good thing?
and obtains?favor?from the LORD. Proverbs 18:22        

A great marriage is rewarding since each partner is a destiny helper to the other. It is important to seek God's peace & guidance towards choosing the person to marry/get married to. Be careful not to idolize your spouse at the expense of your individual calling.

Better to dwell in a corner of a housetop 
than in a house with a contentious woman. Proverbs 21:9
