Last week was the Vancouver International Wine Festival some there was a plethora of tastings, events and after parties, the latter of which I did not attend as I ma getting far too old for after hours festivities, but I digress.

People ask me what wines did I like, and to be truthful, I end up talking to so many people that I have very little chance to taste wine. 

The one winery that did stand out for me was Jasci & Marchesani from Abruzzo, they are all bio-dynamic* and offered a freshness, very important (think of an overripe piece of fruit) and an authenticity that is very hard to find these days, really quite impressive.

I will post when the wines arrive.

Pecorino Abruzzo Superiore

white, fresh, clean zippy, lovely appx $39.00

Nerube Montepulciano

Red, D’Abruzzo Organic

Juicy, full and savoury appx 39

Trebbiano D’Abruzzo

a mini white Burgundy, lovely, rich, creamy notes, appx 26

Montepulciano D’Abruzzo

a good introductory wine to the region appx 26.

While Marquis Wine Cellars has been in business and actively involved in the community for 33 years, there are still many of you who do not know precisely what we do.

Yes we sell wine, buts we do more than just that.

Gifting

Sometimes someone does something special for you. If you are hard pressed to think of what to get them give us a call we can recommend a special bottle, that is in limited supply, hand wrap it in tissue, write a card and courier out saving you time

Events

If you are hosting a party or office function we can again save you time by chilling and delivering the wine to your home or office, yes weekends too.

Collecting

We have been advising our clients for 33 years on how to start a wine cellar.

Dinners

We host winemaker dinners, usually less than 30 people, at some of Vancouver’s most prestigious restaurants. This is your chance to meet and talk one on one with winemakers.

Corporate Tastings

You can either host them at Marquis or we can come to your office.
