UK M&A Valuation Indices Q3 2024

We combined data from MarktoMarket’s platform and our other sources to estimate the value of deals completed and announced in during Q3 of 2024.

UK M&A was robust in the third quarter of 2024. Encompassing the bulk of the summer holiday period, this quarter is normally associated with more subdued activity. We believe that rumoured changes to capital gains tax rates in the October budget led to elevated levels of activity.

October has been a busy month for UK corporate finance with exceptionally strong levels of M&A completions as business owners moved to get ahead of speculated capital gains tax changes in the Autumn Budget.

Based on our estimation, the actual deal count for October UK M&A activity is expected to reach at least 600.
