Marking Mental Health Week and Month
Today marks the start of Mental Health Week in Canada – and to me this takes on special meaning this year. Not only are we thinking about family members, friends and colleagues who struggle with mental health, we need to recognize that everyone is feeling some anxiety, stress and sense of loss due to the impacts of COVID-19.
I want to acknowledge and thank our leaders and teams who have shown tremendous resilience under pressure, underscoring why BMO’s commitment to mental health awareness, advocacy and action is more important than ever. Equally essential is our work to improve the mental health of our communities – including BMO’s collaboration with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) to develop the Workplace Mental Health Playbook for Business Leaders – and partnerships with Kids Help Phone, Jack.org, CivicAction MindsMatter and most recently, WellCan.
Let’s make sure we recognize mental health is health and continue to take care of ourselves and each other.
