Marketing’s Blind Spot
Marketing isn’t just about knowing what works today—it’s about sensing what’s shifting under our feet. And yet, we miss the signs. Not because they aren’t there, but because we dismiss them.
My 8-year-old doesn’t know that search queries can be typed—he only uses voice search on YouTube.
A Client Service Leader on my team refuses to store paper bills to claim expenses. He submits only photos.
A prospect reads our linkedin posts only when he is on a toilet seat (yes, this is a category).
Three fresh engineers joining our team last week say they have never bothered to read a physical newspaper.
These aren’t exceptions. They aren’t anomalies. They are the future, knocking at our door. But we ignore them. We tell ourselves, "That's not how it’s done." We think, "They’ll adjust." And then, one day, we’re the ones struggling to adjust.
Change doesn’t announce itself with a drumroll. It sneaks in, small and silent. The way we shop, the way we learn, the way we trust, the way we decide. It’s shifting. Right now.
The real question is—are we stopping long enough to observe? Are we logging these shifts? Are we acting on them?
We must learn to see the future in everyday moments.
Gyan: Everything in the world is constantly moving. The only way to stay relevant is to move with it.
