Marketing Tug of War 101: Push vs Pull Marketing
Welcome to my version of tug of war!?
As a digital marketer here at Tekglide, I'm continuously on the search for new marketing trends and strategies. Recently, after reading Ahrefs blog about Push vs Pull marketing, I felt the need to share my version of these marketing tactics with my LinkedIn audience.?
Let's delve into the benefits and the examples and begin with the tug of war!?
What Is Push Marketing??
Push marketing is a strategy that relies on placing or nudging your products or services in front of your target customers.?
Examples of Push Marketing Strategies?
Here are some popular examples of push marketing strategy.
Cold emails are one of the most effective push marketing strategies. It involves emailing someone with whom you have no previous relationship to promote your service, acquire links, and more.
Whether it's a billboard or an advertisement on YouTube, basically, you push the ads, and they interrupt the user to showcase the product or service.
Pay-per-click allows you to reach your audience instantly by placing ads on search engines, social media platforms, or other websites. You only pay when someone clicks on your ad, best way to reach potential customers.?

What is Pull Marketing?
Pull marketing helps refocus your target customers on your brand, products, and services.
Examples of Pull Marketing Strategies?
Here are three examples of pull marketing.
Okay, SEO, aka search engine optimization, is my personal favorite. In simpler terms, SEO is identifying the words and phrases customers use to describe their problems and find your brand or similar service/ product as the solution.?
Word-of-mouth is the easiest method, and if you live in a small town, you can attempt to influence or encourage your customers to spread the word.
TIP: Remember, the key to successful pull marketing is not just about building a likable and well-respected brand, providing amazing customer support, and regularly engaging with your customers; hence, with word of mouth, you create a product that customers love and want to share with others.
You can use social media in several ways, including how-to videos, influencer content (e.g., an influencer sharing a demo on how they use your product), beautiful images and videos of your product, and co-marketing campaigns on social media.
To conclude, Pull, Don't Push!
In conclusion, the tug-of-war between push and pull marketing is real, But my vote is toward pull marketing. Aside from SEO being my favorite, you are drawing the customer closer to your brand by pull marketing. Let’s connect and avail our free consultation on search engine marketing.?

7 个月I loved this article! You clearly mapped out the difference between both marketing tactics. ???? While I generally prefer and mostly use 'pull' marketing tactics, I'm not against push marketing. Sometimes, if you don't keep pushing your products and services in front of your ideal clients, they might forget what you offer. I believe push marketing is important for staying top-of-mind, while pull marketing is key to building an engaged community around your brand. A combination of both in a marketing campaign is the perfect recipe for success! ??
