Marketing Software Doesn’t Work

Marketing Software Doesn’t Work

Why is my favorite marketing software not working??

My answer?

It’s because you’re not making it work.

Do you remember the days when you and your marketing team didn’t have any software, and everything used to happen manually?

No email nurtures.

No social media post scheduling.

No smart forms and delivery systems.

No conditional logic.

No website personalization.

No chatbots.

No proper reporting system.

No idea what the sales team was up to!

You were too busy back then to have coffee during your work. Maybe not. Nevermind.

What I mean is, those were beautiful busy times for your team.

Then something changed.

You probably purchased some B2B marketing software, something like HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot, etc.

When you were in the process of comparing solutions, something must have stood out to you so you purchased one software.

Things like –

  • This software will make you billions of dollars
  • This software will help you track each and every visitor on your website and attribute it with 99% accuracy
  • This software will keep your pipelines overflowing with awesome leads all the time
  • This software will bring your marketing and sales team on the same page
  • This software will make your conversations with prospects as smooth as butter
  • This software will work while you sleep
  • And so on…

Most of what they told you while selling to you were true, and yet you feel like your software isn’t delivering what it promised before coming into your life.

You know what, this is a common feeling among a lot of companies using the same software. While there still are quite a lot more companies that don’t have a complaint, and in fact, love this software.

Companies spend something between $10,000 to $100,000, and even more annually on softwares to manage their marketing and sales in B2B.

Let’s look at the reasons why your marketing software is not producing the ROI that you had expected.

Unskilled Team

You need to have marketing talent that is trained on how to fully use the marketing automation software. If this isn’t there, then you’re simply making guesses.

Unclear Strategy

Either there isn’t any plan of action to use the software, or it is not clearly defined for the team.

Messy Implementation

If you’ve got your marketing strategy right, then you might be missing out on effectively using the software to implement this strategy.

Wrong Expectation

Either the sales team of this marketing software company sold you something that it is not. Or, you didn’t understand fully how this software will actually help you in doing something that the sales team promised and you expected.

No Experts

You did not work with any expert outside your company who knows this software inside out and could have helped your team get a great head start.

Any marketing software is built to ease your everyday job as a marketing leader and an advocate of your own solutions. No software will do that on its own. Not even an automation software will do this job automatically. You need to make it do its job. Set the right environment, build the right team, and get help whenever required.

Now, get some help, set up the software, and go achieve great things with it!?
