Marketing & Sales 101: Give, Give, Give and Then Wait.

There are many approaches to sales and marketing. I believe it is a pretty simple equation. Just because it is simple though does not make it easy.

Over the years, as I have built successful businesses, the same approach to sales and marketing has held true.

Give, give, give and then wait. 

But hold on a second, there are a few details though to be included in the fine print.

Give intelligently. Determine what it is that you are really good at and then start giving it away. Knowledge, inspiration, information, the key is to provide massive value.

Wait in plain sight. If you are giving away valuable stuff, they will come. Do not make yourself hard to find. After you give, be sure to be in front of your customer when they decide they want to take action or lean in to learn more. Be sure that your business makes you easily accessible with email, InMail, text or in person.

Give without expectation. It is critical to give and have zero expectations of receiving anything in return. As soon as you expect to receive something in return it will change your messaging. Stop looking for a short-term ROI.

Play the long game. Be in it for the long haul. The road to any success is compounding interest. Create value and interest in your content and all that you give. You had better love what you are doing because you will have to keep on giving. Please be patient.

To do this correctly, you will need to be thinking about what you want to be known for 24/7/365. The equation is straight forward and you control all that goes into it.

Effort x Talent x Execution x Endurance = Success

Notice I made each component a multiplier and not a sum. Your efforts need to be driven towards providing value for people. Educating, inspiring, facilitating, or easing something.

Now go rock it.
