Marketing Mistake #9: Afraid of Change

Are you aiming for different results in your business while sticking to familiar routines? If so, it's time for a conversation!

Achieving new results requires a shift in the steps taken to attain them.

In simpler terms, you need to change what YOU do. Drawing from my experience of guiding numerous professionals across various specialties, I've observed that this cycle of insanity poses a significant challenge.

Let's be honest—change isn't everyone's favourite

The most significant challenge I encounter is convincing people to shift their mindset about their business. Why?

We've been conditioned to believe that being "good" suffices, that adeptly handling clients is the key and that relying on "image" and "personal promotion" will lead to dream-worthy income levels. False!

I've walked in your shoes, and I can affirm that altering your thinking not only transforms your income but your entire life.

What kind of thinking needs a revamp?

The one that insists success comes with getting your "name out there" or establishing a "reputation." While name recognition and a positive reputation are beneficial, the time and money invested often leave people with a mediocre income or out of business.

If name recognition were the golden ticket, we'd all be rich. Despite ads featuring names and pictures, phones aren't ringing off the hook. The reality is, it takes years for recognition and image to bring in substantial income. The same applies to foot traffic in your business.

Word of mouth helps, but it often takes years for the word to spread.

To expedite the process, shift your marketing approach. People will not only respond but will do so because they're genuinely interested in your product or service.

The bottom line is getting your audience to respond. When you grasp that having others recognise you doesn't pay the bills and accept that your mind must adopt a marketer's mindset, you'll pave the way for a new business approach.

Recognise that top producers don't follow the crowd—behaving differently is their secret to success. It's true; how you perceive the world shapes how the world perceives you.
