Marketing is everywhere

Marketing is everywhere

Yes, according to my perspective marketing is everywhere. When we came out from home and go somewhere we see many marketing techniques like side banners, billboards and on the back or sides of some buses, etc.

There is a different view of marketing, if you take a broader perspective, you can argue that "marketing is the cycle link between supply and demand." This definition is even more abstract and refers to the role of marketing in the economic system. Right now I don't often look at economics for practical understanding, but I think it's a useful way to look at marketing. The reason for this is that it describes marketing as a point of contact between supply (firm) and demand (potential customers). Thus, it portrays marketing as a boundary between a company and its external environment.

I find the latter definition useful because we used to think of companies and their external environment as relatively well defined. As a rule, it should be quite easy to find a point where you can say, "This is where the company ends." Except that's not the case. Marketing is on the border between the company and its environment. And the border is collapsing.

We used to think of activities such as market gathering, product development, and communication as relatively well-defined and structured tasks. The marketing professionals faced and remain the task of withdrawing information about needs and preferences and then informing engineers so they can produce products that people really want to buy and then go out again and tell potential customers about wonderful new products. These tasks are now becoming much more complex, and as a result, the distinction between the firm and its external environment is often blurred.
