Without marketing, most businesses fail so, what is marketing and why? Basically, marketing tells the world what you do. By definition, marketing is the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large.

This research links the consumer, customer, and public to the product or service through information, information used to identify and define opportunities and problems; generate, refine, and evaluate actions; monitor performance; and improve the understanding of marketing as a process. This research is specific with the information that is required to address issues, plus it designs the method for collecting information, manages and implements the data collection process, analyzes the results, and communicates the findings and, what they all mean.
It’s been said that there are four Ps in marketing. First is the product and what it offers to the public at large; second is the price, what does it cost? Third, is the place; where are the products or services available? Last but not least is the promotion. How are you going to promote it, what are the tactics that encourage short-term purchase, influence trial and quantity of purchase, and are very measurable in volume, share, and profit? In other words where and how are you going to advertise this?
It’s been said, “Good marketing makes the company look smart. Great marketing makes the customer feel smart.” Remember, with every touchpoint with a client you are always marketing. You should be marketing when: 1. you call and leave a voice mail; 2. With every email; 3. Any and all printed material; 4. Even when a caller is placed On-Hold.
