A short note this week ...
There are a ton of people out there who sell marketing services.
I recently attended a meeting of a new-ish group here in Pittsburgh, Steel City AI Innovators. I’m curious about generative artificial intelligence and how to use it in my marketing business, and it seemed like a good opportunity to learn and network.
It was, but three of the nine attendees were marketers, including me.
I participate in a networking sub-group with one other marketer and a videographer (which is kind of marketing).
Marketers Left and Right
My weekly networking group regularly includes three or four digital marketers, all offering services similar to mine.?
I’m not gonna lie. It would be nice if I was the only digital marketer at these meetings. On the other hand, an abundance of marketers must mean there’s demand for us … right?
The marketers I meet at networking meetings usually have different specialties. One focuses on strategy, another focuses on building websites, one specializes in direct mail, and another works with manufacturers.
Of course, I have one advantage over all of them. They’re not me!
