Product: Sediment Core Samplers

Material: Polycarbonate Tube

Polycarbonate tube is used in core samplers to collect long undisturbed cores of mud and earth at the bottom of bodies of water. They range from simple, check-valve and partial vacuum handheld units for lakes and streams to higher-tech deep ocean instruments (check out this Youtube video to see one in action).

As opposed to metal core samplers, polycarbonate tube creates a visible core collection which allows the tester to spot imperfect samples in the field before returning to the lab.
