THE MARKET BEAR
The Bear Market. Determination of such phenomenon appeared in the sixteenth century with the saying "sell the skin on a bear before it catches it"and two centuries later, on the stock market you could sell something that was not yet and such transactions were called "bear sales" and the investor he hoped that it would continue to fall and buy back at a better price. Will it ever change?
In those times, popular entertainment was tormenting circus bears with other animals, mostly dogs and also sporadically bulls. The observation of the arena with what was going on there gave the people associations with the prevailing struggle of supply and demand, the "bear" was already functioning and the logical comparison for the other side was "bull" those cruel times passed from our point of view and the nomenclature remained.
