Mark Your Calendar for Climatetech Networking

Mark Your Calendar for Climatetech Networking

Dear Friends of Greentown Labs,

Our community of entrepreneurs is hard at work this summer, developing innovations ranging from?smart sensors for wind turbines , to?energy-efficient air conditioning , to a combo of?water desalination and carbon capture .

Take?Active Surfaces , whose?solar modules are 100x lighter than traditional solar panels , without sacrificing any efficiency and with a cost floor below what’s in the market now. The startup’s working toward a future where solar could be put atop every warehouse and distribution center in the United States—which would?reportedly ?generate enough energy to power all homes in each state’s largest city.

Or check in with?EarthBond , a startup?leveraging solar financing to replace businesses’ diesel- and petrol-generator use in “under-grided” areas of Nigeria . The startup’s tackling a major climate and financial problem:?86 percent ?of companies in Nigeria use a generator, and a 2019 International Monetary Fund?report ?put the annual economic cost of inaccessible or unreliable electricity at $29B.?

  • Aug. 31:?Go Build 2023 ?with?Saint-Gobain ?will focus on enabling circularity and decarbonizing the built environment by revolutionizing buildings, old and new. Startups at TRL 3 and above can?apply here .

As always, thank you for your commitment to climate action—we hope to see you at an event soon!

Warmly,

The Greentown Labs Team
