Mark Cuban’s Top Three Tips For Every Entrepreneur
As an entrepreneur, I’m always interested in listening to practical business advice from fellow entrepreneurs and successful people. As part of their “Insights for Entrepreneurs” series, Amazon recently posted a video featuring Dallas Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban discussing his essential three tips all entrepreneurs should keep in mind. I found what he had to say beneficial and if you’re looking to really grow and better your company, I think you should take a look:
- Sales Cure All
“There’s never been a company in the history of companies that hasn’t succeeded without sales.” The biggest salesperson who represents your company has to be YOU. Don’t worry about growing your brand and push sales to the side; make it your primary focus.
2. Selling Is Not Convincing, Selling Is Helping
“Sales is about taking the time to understand the needs of the person you’re selling to.”
Selling someone a product, package, or service isn’t solely about convincing them why they should invest in your product, it’s about understanding what they need from you as a business and how you can get that to them and how your service can help them.
3. All Entrepreneurs Lie To Themselves
“When you’re an entrepreneur, you have to figure out how to kick your own ass before someone else does it for you.”
We have to be brutally honest with our companies and ask ourselves: What do we do well and what do we not do well? How can we improve and challenge ourselves?
