THE MARK: A popular whiskey known as Maker’s Mark, is so named to emphasize that it is, according to them, is the best, hence…The Mark. Question: What is your Mark?
Too often, we allow ourselves to fall into complacency, assigning our self the ill-disserved title: The Mark. Seemingly, we develop the feeling that “everything revolves around ourselves.” We get to the point in our lives, as Leaders, while enjoying so much success… we now consider ourselves as The Mark…The Mark that all others are measured by.
We get to the point where we think that everyone else wants to be just like us. Any Leader, who thinks of himself as being The Mark, is also a FOOL. The Title: The Mark, can only be assigned by those who follow you, the Leader…. It is not “self-assignable.” This whole “process” is a grandiose effort to, in a manner of speaking, to “crown” ourselves KING.
It is also a very dangerous process to “get caught up in,” because we also are placing ourselves, not just ahead of all those around us…. But also, we stand in front of God. We come first… and, God comes last. This violates the First Commandment: “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”
Like it, or not…when we place others… including ourselves…things…places and events…ahead of God… we then… are “idolizing” those things, places, and events, and placing them “ahead of God.”
Galatians 5:19-21 – Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Psalm 16:4 – The sorrows of those who run after another god shall multiply; their drink offerings of blood I will not pour out or take their names on my lips.
All said and done…. One best be certain that they don’t have “The Mark” of the Beast.
