The Marine Contractor will incorporate temporary firestop during construction to protect all open cable & pipe penetrations prior to permanent firestop being installed for sail-away. 

STI Marine Firestop pillows will be inserted into open MCT frames and metal sleeves, temporarily filling the interstitial space around cables and pipes. Temporary firestop will be removed and replaced as needed during all cable and pipe moves, additions and changes.   [i]

Firestop pillows may also be used with access ports in way of fire doors and scuttles used for temporary yard services as compressed air lines, welding leads, ventilation socks, etc. [ii]
