With the fact unexplored, which is now brought to the limelight, that the #Marine #aquaculture has been threatened for about a millennium with #Acoustic pollution (Ref. a Tedx talk by Rose George- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7RsRnYlz7I), its time for the #Maritime industry to wake up on this issue.
It is impossible to imagine a #supersonic jet just flying on top of a human populated area at a very low altitude just above human's ears.
Has the mankind remained so #selfish? or #foolish?
Though there are Marine #archipelagos and #sensitiveareas determined by the regulating bodies, the #oceans are so huge to be analysed about its aquaculture, as
The analysis cannot be just made in all sea areas which has been varying in respect to temperatures, salinity, depth/altitude etc.
Hopefully, noise levels from ships will be regulated in the immediate future.
Possible outcomes that could be anticipated are:
-- IMO coming up with new regulations regarding Noise levels
-- Including all shallows around the coasts as endangered ecosystems and
-- Establishment of fixed entry and exit directions for miles off the land as in the case of Taiwanese ports.
-- Log entries on entry/exit determined ecosystems.
What are your perceptions and could be the remedy for the Acoustic pollution of Marine Aquaculture?
