Marijka Ryan to run for Hartley

I wish to announce that I intend to nominate as an Independent Candidate for the Lower House in the forthcoming State Election and advise that I will be running in Hartley.

I, along with many other voters am not happy with the choices that are presenting for this election and believe that it is high time for real people with a real connection and a lifelong vested interest in the area to step up and stand.

I was born, raised, schooled and have lived in Hartley for most of my life, raised a family here and been very much a part of this community. I cannot stand by and let the circus of the dueling Parties continue without at least giving the voters an opportunity to have real choice. 

These are my people, who I care for deeply. As a Local Campbelltown Councilor for ten years and Deputy Mayor for this four year term of Council, I can offer much more than any other Candidate.

People are fed up with the spin and rhetoric coming from all quarters. It is hard to know who to trust anymore as we have been lied to and let down in the past. The obscene amount of pork barreling taking place at the moment shows just how they view us and in their eyes how cheaply we can be bought. Where there was no money for anything, now there are funds for everything.

If the promises are kept, (and they haven’t been previously), it will return to business as usual after the election without much change.

Unlike the other Candidates, I won’t be taking my instructions from North Terrace. I won’t be torn between what my Party wants and what my community wants. I am the only one who will be working totally in the best interests of Hartley residents, which will also be in the best interests of SA.
