Marietta Business Spotlight: WOW Motorcycles
This month, I had the opportunity to chat with an internationally known, Marietta business that has provided hordes of motorcycle fans with the perfect socially distanced, fall-approved activity for the past 30 years. WOW Motorcycles is a full-service motorcycle retailer that offers new and pre-owned motorcycles, motorcycle parts and repairs, and motorcycle rentals through the EagleRiders Rentals franchise! Candy Hunter, a veteran of the motorcycle world and WOW Motorcycle’s project manager, shared with us everything you need to know about their business.
The Beginning –
WOW Motorcycles was founded by Guido Adriaenssens, a Belgian diplomat, under the name of World on Wheels International in 1991. The company started out as an international export company that supplied everything from vintage Harley Davidsons, to cars, to juke boxes, to Coca-Cola memorabilia. As demand continued to increase for motorcycles, Guido decided to leave his diplomatic position behind and dedicate himself to wholesaling motorcycles around the world full time. In 2002, he made the decision to expand their motorcycle offerings and open a brick and mortar space in Marietta. In 2003, the WOW Motorcycles we now know and love opened to the retail public for the first time.
The Expansion –
Since 2003, WOW has been a draw for buyers from all around the world! So much so, they are now expanding by consolidating their 3 buildings into a brand new 60,000 SF facility that will house not only all administrative offices and a large showroom to display their exclusive, 600+ inventory of sought-after motorcycles but also a larger service department to better accommodate same day services, a UTV line, a kids area, an expanded bike accessories and parts department, and so much more! This highly anticipated facility is projected to open in Spring of 2021 on the 30th anniversary of WOW Motorcycles with the intent to become a destination location for all motorcycle enthusiasts!
Checking Bucket List Items –
During our conversation, Candy spoke of just a few of the inspiring stories she has heard from domestic and international visitors that ride WOW’s motorcycles on incredible, bucket list trips. She said that helping people with a passion for motorcycles realize their dreams makes working at WOW Motorcycles not feel like a job.
So, if you’re craving an outdoor adventure, or maybe you’ve always wanted to take on the Iron Butt Challenge (riding 1,000-miles in just 24 hours!), WOW Motorcycles may just be your place. For more on what they offer, visit www.wowmotorcycles.com.
