?HARTSDALE, NEW YORK (OCTOBER 3, 2024) Maria Regina High School’s first-ever, trailblazing all-girls marching band will dazzle the crowds at the 95th Annual Yonkers Columbus Day Parade at 2 PM, Sunday, October 6 and in the 48th Annual Throggs Neck Columbus Day Parade at noon, Sunday, October 13.
In addition, Kylie Delaney, a senior of the renowned all-girls Catholic high school, will reign as Miss Columbus 2024 in the Yonkers celebration.? Last year, Maria Regina’s Jennifer Pierz was crowned Yonkers’ Miss Columbus 2023 and numerous other alumnae have received this prestigious title in previous years.
Both the Yonkers and Throggs Neck parades are expected to attract hundreds of marchers from throughout the communities including elected officials, representatives from civic and business organizations, families and individuals, among others.? In addition, throngs of celebrants lining the streets will cheer the marchers.
Maria Regina’s ensemble of talented musicians, established three years ago, had the distinction of being the only all-girls group in 2023 and 2024 New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parades and was the winner of “Best High School Marching Band” in the 2023 Yonkers St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

?Jania Steele of the Bronx will lead the marching band, holding the school banner.
Maria Regina’s marching band is under the direction of Steven Finkelstein, a professional percussionist who specializes in working with young musicians who have little or no experience.
Maria Carozza-McCaffrey (Class of ’99), Principal, said: “The Maria Regina community including members of the administration, faculty, staff, alumnae, parents and friends look forward once again to proudly cheering our incredibly gifted band members in this year’s Columbus Day celebrations that honor the Italian American heritage of the City of Yonkers and the Bronx” adding: “We are so thrilled that Kylie will also be a featured highlight of the Yonkers parade.”
