GREENBURGH HISPANIC LIAISON MARIA PORTILLA FEATURED ON ABC TV --RECOGNITION FOR HER EXCEPTIONAL WORK HELPING OTHERS (link below)
Maria Portilla received tri-state recognition on ABC TV (channel 7) this past Sunday in recognition for her exceptional work as the Greenburgh Volunteer Hispanic Liaison. Every Tuesday she volunteers her time helping the Hispanic community with individual problems. She has office hours at Greenburgh town Hall from 12-5 PM on Tuesday's. Maria is an amazing woman who has changed lives for the better. I am so glad that she is receiving the recognition she deserves for her enormous accomplishments ---and for caring about others.
Maria has translated important documents in Spanish. She has helped individuals. She is skilled in crisis intervention, family therapy, case management and program development. She worked as a Senior Social Worker for Westchester County before retiring. She is also a member of the Greenburgh Human Rights Committee. Maria is a role model!
