For the last 15 years, I have been using my stage platform as my "keyboard pulpit!" My desire has been to show anyone who will listen that anything is possible with a dream, a plan, hard work, lots of reflection, and refinement.

I had recently found a quote by Steven Covey that states the 4 Reasons why we are on the planet: To Live, To Learn, To Love, and To Leave a Legacy. For The Love Of, my new book is my attempt to add the wisdom I have learned to the legacy of my community and to humanity.

Around 3 years ago I found out that my father was ill with a sickness that ended up being the impetus behind his eventual passing. About the same time, my daughter was a young baby, and I was scared to death of so many things -- personally and financially. I had to figure out a way to regain control of my life and feelings.

So, while traveling to San Francisco in 2015, I just decided to take advantage of the time in the air to start writing. Writing things down has always helped me and sharing the wisdom I have gained overcoming the numerous obstacles I have faced has helped myself and others.

My story is transparent. I speak of my many failures. I speak of the regular obstacles that we all face. I also speak of fun, love, loss, and success. I hope that my stories of transcendence, along with the tips in each Chapter will allow for dialogue, community thought-provocation and self-introspection.
