Marco's smiling down on us from heaven

Somehow I just can't keep thinking that Marco Abdi is smiling down from heaven on his family and friends this year.
Abdi, the dynamic restaurant owner and successful business man in Calgary, died more than a year ago, leaving a huge hole in this community.
Abdi was a generous soul - always giving to back in many different ways to a community that embraced him and provided the opportunity for him to grow as a person and business owner. He was always grateful for that.
To remember him, his family in February held two events to raise money for the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation in Abdi's memory - a cycle for charity in Marda Loop and a silent auction at La Brezza restaurant in Bridgeland where his family continues to honour his legacy by operating the eatery.
The final numbers are in and the two events raised $19,250.40.
Keep smiling Marco my friend. Your legacy in Calgary continues to impact people and will for a long time.
