What’s ?? this month

During March, we’re excited to bring you the hottest native cloud content with our live streams.?

First up, we have our principal technology advocate, Orlin Vasilev , hosting members of the Kubernetes 1.33 Release team, Matteo Bianchi , Nina Polshakova , and Ryota Sawada on March 6th to discuss all things release management. Join us on YouTube or LinkedIn to learn how you can contribute to this initiative.

Measuring sustainability in the cloud native world is challenging; which is why there is a technical advisory group within the CNCF that focuses on this effort. On March 27th, Divya Mohan will host Antonio D. , a co-chair of the Green Reviews working group, to learn more about this initiative. Join along on YouTube or LinkedIn by signing up today!

We’re bringing back SUSE Rancher Day to the upcoming KubeCon London on popular demand. But what can you, as an attendee, expect? Join Divya Mohan as she hosts Jeroen Van Erp & Nelson Batsford to sneak a peek into the BTS of the event on March 20th. Per usual, we’ll be streaming live on YouTube & LinkedIn.?

Rancher

Since our general availability announcement at KubeCon Europe 2024, we've been hard at work expanding the SUSE Rancher Prime Application Collection with a wide range of popular helm charts and single container applications, all running on the rock-solid foundation of our SUSE Linux Enterprise Base Container Image (SLE BCI) SP6. In December, we were thrilled to mark a significant milestone of 60 applications now being served via this collection! These are ?exclusively? available to SUSE Rancher Prime customers, adding immense value to their subscriptions.?

We grew our collection by adding the below apps in February 2025:

But, wait. Have you ever found yourself lost in the Application Collection Catalogue and don’t know where to begin? We’ve got you covered with the First Steps documentation released in February and we hope you like it!

Rancher Desktop

In February, we introduced v1.18.0 of Rancher Desktop with a bunch of bug fixes and enhancements. Notable among them are the inclusion of updated Rancher Dashboards and Open WebUI extensions along with a separate RPM for Fedora. Check out the release notes to learn more and connect with us on the Rancher Users Slack, if you run into issues or have suggestions!

openSUSE Tumbleweed

Tumbleweed has adopted SELinux as the default Linux Security Module (LSM) for new installations after using AppArmor as its default LSM for quite some time. SELinux will be enabled in enforcing mode by default only for new installations. Existing installations will not be affected by the change and will retain the option to select AppArmor during installation if they prefer. To learn more about this update, check out our announcement blog.?
