Wow, that went by fast: From the unveiling of our new sustainability strategy to advancing our plans in autonomous driving, there was a lot to get excited about in March. Let's buckle up and take a ride through our 6 strategic highlights from last month!?
1. Biggest product offensive ever!
?? ?? This year, we will see over 30 world premieres set to delight customers across our brands. It's the biggest product offensive ever in our group. ?? From efficient combustion models to plug-in hybrids and fully electric vehicles, there's something for everyone. You can be excited about the Porsche AG Macan Electric, 奥迪 Q6 e-tron, Volkswagen ID.7 & ID.7 Tourer, and the CUPRA Tavascan. Audi and Porsche models will debut on the new PPE production platform, marking a significant step forward in the electric premium segment. ??
2. Introducing regenerate+: a comprehensive sustainability strategy
We unveiled a new sustainability strategy for the whole group. It is called regenerate+. What are its four focus areas and examples of our goals?
Nature ??: Our global facilities target carbon neutrality by 2040, 10 years ahead, with a 30% emissions cut since 2018. ?? By 2040, we are aiming for 40% of materials to be recycled, with a focus on battery recycling. ??
People ??: Over 14 million hours were invested in training and development in 2023, with the goal to increase this figure by 35% by 2030. ?? We achieved 19.2% of women in management in 2023 (a 10% increase from 2022), with ongoing efforts to increase diversity and inclusivity overall.
Society ??: We're shaping responsible supply chains, aiming for over 95% of suppliers to have positive Sustainability Ratings and certified Environmental Management Systems by 2040. ?? We're enhancing transparency in high-risk battery raw material sourcing, targeting IRMA 50 by 2030 and IRMA 75 by 2040.
Business ??: Climate-centric initiatives drive our strategic investments, with over two-thirds (68%) allocated to digitization and electrification from 2023 to 2027. ?? We are aiming to finance 30% of bonds through Green Bonds by 2030, increasing to 50% by 2040.
3. We achieved robust financial results 2023
?? In 2023, we achieved robust financial results in challenging conditions, demonstrating our resilience and adaptability.
Our reported net cash flow in the Automotive Division more than doubled to EUR 10.7 billion, supported by a sharp reduction in inventories at the end of the year. Revenues increased by 15% to EUR 322.3 billion, with sales reaching 9.36 million vehicles. This success was underpinned by an operating profit of EUR 22.6 billion, showcasing the results of the Group's efforts under the TOP-10-programme.

4. Introducing the small electric car family
We're preparing to launch our small electric family next year! Featuring all-electric cars from CUPRA , Volkswagen , and ?koda Auto on the same platform, these vehicles will make climate-neutral mobility more accessible across Europe.
?? The lineup includes the #CUPRA Raval, the #Volkswagen ID.2all, and the newly revealed #?koda Epiq, a city SUV crossover from the Czech Republic. All models boast front-wheel drive, a range of over 400 kilometers, and a length of about four meters, with a price tag around 25,000 euros. And here's another highlight: the trio will soon become a quartet, as Volkswagen is already working on the ID. 2all SUV!
5. Audi charging hub: promoting sustainability and accessibility
?? 奥迪 unveiled its sixth charging hub in Frankfurt am Main, featuring four high-power charging points up to 320 kW. Designed for inclusivity, the hub offers:
- an innovative swivel arm reducing the charging cable's weight by 60%, aiding wheelchair users and
- height-adjustable displays and a spacious layout ensure a comfortable charging experience.
?? Utilizing second-life batteries, the hub promotes sustainability and cost efficiency. Guests can enjoy snacks and drinks while vehicles charge. Open to all car brands, it embodies inclusivity and convenience.
6. Accelerating automated driving
?? Automated driving projects are accelerated through our collaboration with Mobileye , aiming to integrate automated driving functions into its cars swiftly. Teams from 奥迪 , Bentley Motors , Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. , and Porsche AG will benefit from Mobileye's expertise, leveraging platforms like "Mobileye SuperVision" and "Mobileye Chauffeur". Customers can anticipate premium driving functions such as support in intersections, automatic stopping at red lights, and systems for highway and urban driving. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles R&D teams in Hanover will also receive tech components from Mobileye.

11 个月Car makers still need to work hard to eliminate the major challenges of EVs (travel distance, charging time, charging infrastructure & purchase price). So, EVs are still seen as a supplement and not a replacement for gas cars. The strong springboard reaction to EV sales was led by early adopters, to whom the electric car was an easy sell. Nowadays, the majority of those who see the benefits of owning an EV already have one. Middle-class customers who can show faster positive sales trend should be the next purchasing target category, but carmakers haven't been able to get them interested in entering the market yet.
