3. WOMEN IN TECH: On Equity, Opportunity, and Representation in Egypt

March is finally here, bringing with it the opportunity to honor the remarkable women in the tech industry.

In celebration of Women’s History Month, the techQualia team has updated the report on Women in Tech, highlighting the incremental progress, historicizing the tacit structures that hinder gender parity in AI, and outlining the mitigation efforts taken by Synapse Analytics.

Despite global efforts to increase women's participation in STEM, the journey towards gender parity remains challenging. Since our last report, the global presence of women in STEM has seen a modest rise of 9.2%. This incremental progress prompts a critical reflection on the barriers still hindering greater gender equality.

Why isn’t the growth more significant, despite extensive local initiatives? What factors continue to perpetuate this imparity? And how is this women’s underrepresentation particularly dangerous in AI?
