March sales of all-electric EVs were up by 63%

35,815 BEV vehicles were registered in the UK in March. Tesla was No.1 with 33.6% market share and Kia was 2nd?with 7.64%

16% of all new cars registered in March were fully electric. This is up from 8% of the market in March 2021. Both diesel and petrol shares on the market have fallen in the last twelve months. While all electric EVs were up by 63%, hybrids actually fell by 2%. When the motoring public go electric, it would seem that they want fully electric and not going hybrid

Diesel sales have halved in the past year with just under 19,000 registered in March. Although they are still registering volume, the trend is away from them and registrations are getting smaller.?

For sales of EVs, certain areas of the country seem to be embracing electric vehicles in a big way. Registrations in Kent and Cambridgeshire were leading with one in every three vehicles were electric.?

In addition to certain areas, certain manufacturers are finding that their percentage of EVs sold compared to their total registrations are growing quickly.

The smaller volume manufacturers are making inroads with Porsche showing that their EVs as a percentage of total registrations was 36.42%. Jaguar come a close 2nd?with 36.69%.
