March recap - FL Technics news

Recap

What a March it was! We started the month with Zilvinas Lapinskas, CEO of FL Technics and member of the board of directors of Avia Solutions Group, announcing our parent company becoming a Ireland-based entity, while at the same time our team participated in MRO Middle East exhibition, highlighting our businesses and developments in the region.

First week set the pace that we maintained the whole month – IATP conference in Bahrain, various smaller events, career fairs, and loads of business meetings, including transatlantic ones, with us visiting Americas, and delegations from across the pond visiting FL Technics in Lithuania.

Explore some highlights of the month below, subscribe and follow us for more content, because all these activities brought substantial progress towards FL Technics developments and some major news are about to be announced already in April!

Navigating Complex Logistics in Aviation: Solutions for Airlines and Lessors

(R. Gramaglia, Head of Sales & Development – Logistics and Storage Department)

As airlines and aircraft lessors face increasing pressure to efficiently manage their supply chains, logistics struggles have become an increasing concern.

From meeting tight delivery schedules to managing complex customs procedures, there are many challenges that airlines and lessors must navigate in order to ensure the smooth and timely movement of aircraft and aircraft parts.

One solution to these challenges is the use of freight forwarders who specialize in aviation logistics.

We, at FL Technics Logistics, work to streamline the supply chain, from sourcing parts and materials to handling customs clearance, delivery cargoes worldwide and provide airlines and lessors with the expertise and resources needed to navigate the complex and often time-consuming logistics of the aviation industry.

One of the key benefits of working with FL Technics Logistics is access to our extensive network of carriers and agents, which allows our organization to secure the most efficient and cost-effective shipping options for each specific cargo. This outlook can help to serve AOG or Routine scenarios and ease transit times and costs, while ensuring that cargo is transported safely and securely.

An addition to our expertise in logistics, FL Technics Logistics also have a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by the aviation industry.

We work closely with airlines and lessors to identify potential issues and develop contingency plans, helping to minimize disruption and ensure that all shipments are delivered on time and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

We do understand that aircraft leasing companies play a crucial role in the aviation industry by providing airlines with access to the planes they need to operate.

However, these lessors face several tasks that can impact their business and the industry as a whole. Here are some of the most common struggles faced by lessors:

  1.  High Capital Costs: aircraft leasing requires significant upfront investment and long-term financial commitments, which can be a barrier to entry for new players and make it challenging for existing lessors to remain profitable.
  2. Depreciation Risks: aircraft values tend to depreciate over time, which means that lessors must manage the risk of their assets losing value.
  3. Maintenance Costs: aircraft must remain airworthy and meet industry safety standards. These costs can be unpredictable and depends on many factors, such as age and type of aircraft.
  4. Regulatory Compliance: the aviation industry is highly regulated; therefore, lessors and airlines must comply with a range of local and international rules and regulations. This can be time consuming and costly, and a failure to comply can result in significant fines or legal penalties.

Celebrating our people

Women in Aviation

Even though the majority of employees at FL Technics are men, women say they feel appreciated, supported and inspired to aim to reach new heights in aviation industry.

A traveler at heart, Milda Valevice has always been fascinated by aviation and its complexity. With her previous extensive international experience, Milda says that joining the industry was a natural step forward, and she’s confident it was the right one.

Here’s her best piece of career advice, “Don’t get bored too quickly, don’t get irritated too quickly. You will be surprised how well different people and different ideas, especially those you might not like, work together!”

Get to know Milda better by watching her full interview.

Aircraft NDT engineer, Jolanta, joined FL Technics more than 10 years ago, and is still as excited about her job as she was on her very first days.

Jolanta breaks gender stereotypes when it comes to professional life and believes that all one needs to succeed in the industry is a strong passion for aviation.

“MRO at KTU presented NDT.” Say what?!

Abbreviations do not always make sense, especially when you are new in the game.

That’s one of the reasons FL Technics joined Kaunas University of Technology to educate and promote one of the exciting areas within aircraft Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul business – the Non-Destructive Testing technologies and potential (both for the aviation industry in general, and for career opportunities in it).

Special thanks for hosting us Nerijus Baublys and Martynas Lendraitis! Enjoyed the audience and engagement from the students! And looking forward to diving deeper into NDT potential this year as more sessions as well as partnership opportunities awaits!
