Hi Finlay Asher, We're starting to get into the swing of things for 2025. In the UK, the Government has approved expansion at Gatwick Airport (with some string attached) - and we’ve been in the media responding to this. Within Safe Landing, we started March with a group visit to ZeroAvia's hangars to tour their facilities and learn about how they are testing their prototype hydrogen propulsion technology. We're looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible at our next Community Check-in taking place Thursday 27th March:?

Community Check-In

Every last Thursday of the month you are welcome to join our Community Check-In. Add all meetings to your calendar using this link. It is a great place to:

• meet like-minded aviation workers
• hear what Safe Landing is up to
• discuss relevant aviation topics
• find out how to get involved

Get involved

• Industry events?- let us know if you plan to attend any aviation industry events over the next few months. For example the upcoming Contrails Conference: March 25-26 in Copenhagen, or the Sustainable Skies Summit at Farnborough in May.?
• Draft groups positions - e.g. we are keen to develop some more community positions on key topics such as aviation tax, and zero-carbon aircraft. Email Finlay at: [email protected]
• Follow and share?- Follow us on social media,?such as LinkedIn, share our posts, and encourage your colleagues to get involved too.
• Talk about Safe Landing - Help us grow by sharing info about Safe Landing / sustainability with your colleagues and network. Feel free to use our content.

What Safe Landing got up to in February

• 6th Feb - Surrey University Talk - Todd & Finlay presented to sustainable tourism students: read more
• 7th Feb - we hosted an Eco-Anxiety sharing circle for aviation workers in London. We talked about all things mental health related to eco-anxiety and working in aviation. It was facilitated by a former mental health nurse and psychoanalyst.
• 15th Feb - Finlay gave a speech at Inverness Airport in Scotland, about our proposal to move away from private jets towards zero-carbon aircraft at the airport.
• 18th Feb - A Safe Landing for Aviation: Aviation workers are working together to develop a sustainable future for their sector. Read the Grace Blakeley article.
• 22nd Feb - the Safe Landing core crew attended Maxine's farewell ceremony in the Netherlands.
• 24th Feb - George responds to Airbus' announcement that their "ZeroE" project timeline for hydrogen aircraft is being delayed: read more
• 27th Feb - London Gatwick Airport expansion backed by UK Government - Safe Landing appeared various times in the media to get our position out: read more
