March News Letter - approach leadership in a balanced integrated
Throughout history, humans in cultures around the world have acknowledged ancient wisdom traditions and believe it provides fundamental frameworks and a guide for wholeness and well being in any Leadership role. Leadership was taught from as early as the age of 6 through to adulthood.
When leaders approach leadership in a balanced integrated way can they bring forth their gifts and talents fully. We found that from this place leaders create vibrant successful endeavours for themselves and others.
Developing incredible leadership skills takes practice and commitment, and it has to come from deep within that human being, who then grows strong in their ability to influence others, which is what Leadership is.
If you are a Leader and you have no followers, then you are only taking a walk. If you are a Leader and can influence others to follow you and your ideas, then yes, hand on heart you are a true leader.
Leadership isn’t a position that you’re appointed to, it’s a skill and quality that you can continually cultivate and use to create lasting change and provide certainty to others in times of uncertainty. The leader acts as a guide to personal, leadership and organisational success.
LEADERSHIP FOR SUCCESS
OUR CLIENTS THAT ENROLLED - INDIVIDUALS, BOARDS, EXECUTIVE COMMITTEES AND LEADERSHIP TEAMS - INTO OUR LEADERSHIP BY DESIGN - ‘LEADERSHIP TRIAD’ OVER THE LAST FEW WEEKS HAVE FOUND TEAMS NOW:
- Always show up, and are energised, informed, prepared and ready to contribute
- Are clear and committed to their beliefs, convictions and goals
- Feel passionate about their role and tasks
- Have a sense of happiness as they spent more than 8 hours in a role
- Demonstrate risk-taking and mutual support to speak out on things that matter
- Pay attention to what is important, and what has heart and meaning to themselves and others
- Tell the truth and engender trustful relationships among themselves and those they lead and steward
- Create courageous followers who are willing to stand up to and for their leader and their organization
- Develop a heightened sense of awareness about the challenges of sustainability in how human, capital, and environmental resources are used
- Encourage a closer look at how the community is viewed at the table as valued and appreciated partners
- Display flexibility and resilience in times of adversity
- The greatest learning, I believe was the willingness to work with the other members of the team as one. People are motivated when they have a sense of belonging - that this is this a place where they can help others, and where others help them.
Business leaders that are implementing the our methods see their firms as organic enterprises where sustaining employee morale and building company culture are treated as critical obligations and foundations of their success. People are viewed as assets to be developed, not costs to be reduced. As sources of creative ideas and pragmatic solutions, and as bringing leadership at their own level to the company. Leadership is about achieving results through people, and we do that through aligned motivation. It’s about aligning the things that motivate our people with the results the organisation needs to achieve.
