Exciting times ahead for UK BioTech, MedTech, and beyond! What impact do you think this will have on the sector?
Anthos Therapeutics,?a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, is being acquired by Novartis's in a deal valued up to $3.1 billion. This will aim to enhance its cardiovascular treatment offerings and includes abelacimab, which is a late-stage medicine that is in development for the prevention of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with atrial fibrillation.
Back in December 2024 bit.bio announced it had raised $30 Million led by M&G Investments to focus on tools for the research, drug discovery and cell therapy markets.
At the?Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS)?2025 meeting, bit.bio?announced?the first launch from its ioTracker CellsTM?range: GFP ioMicrogliaTM.?
With 18 more product launches in the pipeline, it’s going to be an exciting year for bit.bio and I’m looking forward to seeing what they achieve with their funding.

The projected expansion of the cheminformatics market, is expected to reach approximately USD 19.23 billion by 2031, signifying a burgeoning demand for professionals adept in both chemistry and information technology. This growth is largely driven by the increasing need for efficient drug discovery processes and the integration of advanced computational tools in chemical research.
As the industry evolves, there will be a notable shift in recruitment trends. We’re seeing an increase in companies actively seeking individuals with expertise in chemoinformatics to navigate complex chemical data and contribute to innovative research and development initiatives. This trend underscores the importance of interdisciplinary skills, combining chemical knowledge with proficiency in data analysis and software development, to meet the growing demands of the sector.
