A note from CEO Craig Badrick
When you think of your network provider, you probably think of a person who shows up whenever the Wi-Fi isn't working fast enough, or when someone in the office clicks on a suspicious email. It's incredibly common for business leaders to be unaware that network providers can be a one-stop shop for safeguarding their business — providing not just cybersecurity tools, but also physical security solutions like cameras, sensors, panic buttons, and access controls.?
This lack of awareness is unfortunate because — and I don't mean to toot our own horn — with the ever-expanding capabilities of IoT devices, wireless networks, and smart technology, a network provider is now the best partner when it comes to security, keeping your organization safer than just about any physical security services business can.
The reason for this is interoperability, or the ability to bring multiple security solutions onto a single network so they can communicate information and work together to stop threats. If an intruder were to enter your facility by tailgating a car, traditional camera monitoring would require a person to notice the unwelcome visitor and manually operate the access control system. An interoperable physical security solution doesn't waste valuable time waiting for information to be communicated between siloed systems. In that same scenario, a smart camera could identify the suspicious activity, direct the access control system to block the intruder, and alert you to the situation while you stepped out for a coffee break.??
It's upsetting, but it’s time to acknowledge the crucial need for every organization to have advanced physical security measures in place. And the fact is, when it comes to keeping employees and facilities safe, the ability to create smarter, quicker systems can't be overlooked. So next time you see your network provider, be sure to ask them about modern solutions for physical security.
