March Content Ideas For Your Blog And LinkedIn

March Content Ideas For Your Blog And LinkedIn

Looking at March’s calendar and wondering what to write about? Pour yourself something nice and let’s plan your content strategy for the month ahead.

March is packed with opportunities for engaging content – from major cultural events to quirky awareness days. The key is planning ahead so you can adapt your content for different platforms without the last-minute panic.

Good content planning means you can turn one solid idea into:

  • A valuable blog post
  • Engaging LinkedIn content
  • Multiple social media posts
  • Newsletter material worth reading

Before you get started, it’s worth taking a look at my approach to ‘Days Of…’ content – I’m not a huge fan of thinking literally because too many people are doing it, so expect the unexpected when it comes to my content idea suggestions.

The Big March Events

Let’s tackle the major events first – these need careful handling to create valuable content without being opportunistic.

International Women’s Day (March 8th)

Rather than just posting congratulatory messages, I wanted to focus on practical ways businesses can support and promote gender equality. This isn’t about jumping on a hashtag – it’s about creating meaningful discussion around real business issues.

  • Blog idea: ‘Closing the Gap – What Actually Works in Creating Equal Opportunities’
  • LinkedIn approach: Share specific actions your business has taken to promote equality
  • Social content: Spotlight series featuring women in your industry
  • Newsletter angle: Interview with female business leaders about practical changes needed

Ramadan (March 10th)

This is an opportunity to create helpful content about making workplaces more inclusive. Instead of surface-level posts, focus on practical guidance for businesses.

  • Blog idea: ‘Creating an Inclusive Workplace – Supporting Staff During Ramadan’
  • LinkedIn approach: Share your company’s approach to religious inclusion
  • Social content: Daily tips for workplace inclusivity
  • Newsletter angle: Expert advice on developing inclusive policies

Cultural Events

We’ve all seen those cringe-worthy posts trying to force cultural events into business content. But done right, these events can spark genuine conversations and insights about your business – without looking like you’re just jumping on a trending hashtag. Here’s how.

British Science Week (March 7th-16th)

Instead of getting caught up in complex scientific concepts, I thought about how businesses use data and testing in their daily operations. Every business does some form of experimentation, whether they call it that or not.

  • Blog idea: ‘What Running A/B Tests Taught Us About Our Customers’
  • LinkedIn approach: Share a business experiment that failed but provided valuable insights
  • Social content: Daily ‘Did You Know’ facts about your industry’s evolution
  • Newsletter angle: How data drives your business decisions

Shakespeare Week (March 24th-30th)

Rather than forcing Shakespeare quotes into business content, I focused on the storytelling aspect – something every business needs to master.

  • Blog idea: ‘To Post or Not to Post – Finding Your Business’s True Voice’
  • LinkedIn approach: Share your business’s story arc – the challenges, victories, and lessons
  • Social content: Modern business lessons from classic stories
  • Newsletter angle: How to craft compelling business narratives

Industry Events

March brings some major events that might seem miles away from your business at first glance. (Dogs and movies? Really?) But instead of just watching from the side-lines, let’s find the genuine business angles that won’t make your followers cringe. These events are perfect for talking about standing out in your field, celebrating your team, and showcasing what makes your business tick – without a single “and the award goes to…” cliché in sight.
